Carly has been working as a mental health counselor in northern New Hampshire since October 2020. Carly grew up in Southwest Iowa so decided to return in October 2023 to join Therapy Place and continue practicing as a mental health counselor in Southwest Iowa. She attended her undergraduate at Northwest Missouri State University and graduate at University of Northern Iowa. During her time at UNI, Carly worked in Sexual Assault Prevention and Advocacy at the university. Carly practices from an eclectic perspective. She values a holistic view of the person and their circumstances to best support people achieving their therapeutic goals and attaining a higher quality of life. She uses approaches with aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Adlerian principles to support the objective of helping people improve their situations and successfully overcome life’s challenges. Carly works with individuals who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, and many other mental health challenges. In addition, she has an interest in couples counseling to support people in achieving higher relationship satisfaction. Carly works with clients ranging in age from early adolescents to older adults (12 and up).
Carly serves clients in both Atlantic and Harlan offices.
